All my life I wanted to have a rose garden,
but until we moved to North Carolina in 1991 and built our new home, I
didn’t have the courage to try. That first summer I planted eleven rose
bushes - all hybrid teas, and from then I was hooked! Each year I find
a way to expand a little bit. Our house lot is very small so there isn't
very much room to devote to the rose garden. To date, I have about 50 plants
- a combination of Hybrid Teas, Miniatures, Floribundas, Shrubs, and even
one Climber. When people in our neighborhood go for walks they frequently
stop at my garden (which is right by the road) and walk through the front
rose bed. It's very gratifying to share the peace and beauty I enjoy with
others. I hope you enjoy the brief tour I have provided here. … Terry
VIKING PRINCESS - a Floribunda rose. This
was a new addition to my garden in 1997 and has become one of my favorite
roses. It bloomed profusely the first year in my garden.
ALADDIN's DREAM - a Hybrid Tea rose. I
added this rose to my garden in 1995. It was offered as a limited edition
rose by Spring Hill Nursery. The color and form are wonderful. I hope it
will mature into a real winner on the show table.
PARTY TIME - a Hybrid Tea rose. This rose
is a lot like Double Delight. It has a deep yellow color with a dark red
edging. A frequent bloomer. I love it!
PARADISE - a Hybrid Tea rose. This is a 1979 AARS selection.
It has the most interesting medium lavender to red coloration and has a
very nice fragrance.
DAME de KOBENVAVN - A Floribunda rose.
Grows much like a small shrub with delicate color and fragrance.
MISTER LINCOLN - a Hybrid Tea rose. The
brilliant red of this rose is a must have for every rose garden.
